Chiropractic history began with the Palmer family and the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. As an important aspect of the College's heritage, history is evident on all three Palmer campuses in the form of exhibits and smaller displays depicting aspects of the profession's history. Exhibits range from those in the Palmer Museum of Chiropractic History on the Davenport Campus to the West Campus history timeline and Florida Campus displays. The Davenport Campus also has an extensive osteological collection. Displays include epigrams painted on campus walls as well as exhibits on chiropractic pioneers and published works by Palmer College alumni, faculty and staff.
From humble beginnings in 1876 as Texas' first public institution of higher learning, to a bustling 5,000-acre campus with 48,000-plus students and a nationally recognized faculty, Texas A&M University is one of a select few universities with land-grant, sea-grant and space-grant designations.
